Israeli army kills Palestinian youth near Bethlehem

Israeli soldiers have killed a 19-year-old Palestinian man during an unrest at a refugee camp near the West Bank town of Bethlehem, Palestinian medics stated today.
Jihad al-Jafari, a staunch supporter of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's Fatah movement, was shot dead in an overnight confrontation at the Dheisheh camp, the medics further stated.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli troops said that soldiers were attacked by Palestinian youths throwing stones and incendiary devices, further adding that one soldier was wounded.
"After trying several times to disperse the crowd of attackers, which was in-vain, the troops felt en-danger and opened fire at the leader of the rioters, who was immediately hit," the spokeswoman stated, without further elaborating.
