The gruesome photos are reportedly part of the extremist group's propaganda campaign to create fear among forces fighting against them in Syria and Iraq.
The pictures are also believed to be aimed at encouraging potential recruits from across the world to join them.
The man is seen kneeling in front of a group of heavily armed men in one of the pictures, before the executioner, who has his face concealed, steps forward with his weapon.
In another picture the executioner raises his meat cleaver above his head as the other men watch on.
The next picture however shows the severed head of the executed man.
The pictures offer a disturbing echo of the images released by ISIS of the deaths of Western hostages, including Britons Alan Henning and David Haines.
It comes after ISIS militants released a horrific new video warning America of a new 9/11-style attack.
The propaganda video called "We Will Burn America" warns there is "no safety for any American on the globe".
The 11-minute long videoclip also calls on ISIS supporters to target America on its own soil.
It also glorifies in previous atrocities by the group, including the beheading of U.S. journalist James Foley.
