Tragedy as woman gets electrocuted to death after dropping her Iphone in the bath

A young lady lost her life after accidentally dropping her charging iPhone while she was taking a bath.

According reports from her flatmate, Evgenia Sviridenko, 24, had been viewing her social media page on VKontakte - the Russian version of Facebook, when the accident occured.

While speaking from the apartment the women shared in Moscow, Yaroslav Dubinina, 23, said: "I noticed that she had been gone a while, and when I couldn't see her I opened the door and saw her floating on the water looking pale.

"I then saw her phone which was on charge at the bottom of the bath. Her body was still shaking from the shock."

Police are presently investigating why the charger did not cut out and are yet to reveal whether it was a licensed Apple product.

Evgenia's death comes just days after another 16-year-old girl died in Russia's Bashkortostan Republic after also taking her charging phone into the bathroom as she was taking a shower.

In August, 2014 Chinese media reported that a teenager was electrocuted by her Apple iPhone after she plugged into an unofficial charger.

The girl Wu Weyuan, an 18-year-old student from Korla was found by her sister, who noticed a burning smell when she came home from work.

Apple had previously released statements on its official website warning of the dangers of using unofficial chargers.

In October, 2014 a man also claimed the recent iPhone 6 bent in his pocket and caught fire, leaving him with a 2nd degree burn.

The man Phillip Lechter was visiting the University of Arizona when the event happened and said a passer-by had to pour water on his trousers to put out the blaze.

Do you think iphone should re-adjust the gadgets to avoid this type of events from occurring again? Please leave your comment
