A new smartphone app has been Invented which they claim can tell people if they have CANCER - simply by smelling their breath.
The inventors behind the ground-breaking app were able to secure a €6million grant to develop the technology, which could enable early diagnosis of cancer
The application called 'Sniffphone' is built to analyse gases in a user's mouth by using a breathalyzer, which is added to the phone.
The smartphone then reads the information and sends it to the app, which in-turn passes it on to specialist staff in a laboratory.
The inventor, Professor Hossam Haick, of Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, stated that the technology could help save lives by enabling early diagnosis of cancer.
He further said: "The Sniffphone will be made tinier and cheaper than disease detection solutions currently, will consume little power, and most importantly, it will enable immediate and early diagnosis of cancer that is both accurate and non-invasive.
"Early diagnosis can save lives, particularly in life-threatening diseases such as cancer."
