Boko Haram set ablaze military camp in Yobe town

Reports emanating  claims suspected members of Boko Haram fighters yesterday attacked a military camp in Ngelzarma town of Yobe state, setting on fire the military camp as well as a trailer load of grains meant for traders in the town.

According to jounalists, the sect fighters arrived the town at about 4pm and began shooting sporadically into the air. A security source who wants to remain anonymous said that the fighters came in a very large number.

Malam Hassan Aminu, a resident of the town, stated that residents in Ngelzarma had earleir tipped-off the military men stationed in their area of an impending attack by the sect group as they got a rumour that the sect members were sighted in a neighboring village.
"We hinted the security operatives but surprisingly they took no action. The fighters entered the town and burnt the military camp, a truck loaded with grains and some traders shops in the town. The military camp was set ablaze by the Boko Haram fighters last year, after being renovated by the state government, the sect fighters came back and re-burnt it again. No action was taken to prevent the repeat" he said.
